The national standard requires the illuminance and uniformity of table lamp, which can be divided into two illumination grades, A and AA.


The evaluation results show that four products, NetEase Intelligent Manufacturing, Rex Lighting, Millet Eco-chain Yeelight, Panasonic and so on, have reached the AA level of illumination and performed well. But Aimu eye lamp, illumination and illumination uniformity are not qualified, irradiation desktop is not bright enough and illumination is not uniform enough, easy to cause visual fatigue in the use process.

When children read and write, they do not always keep their head down. Occasionally, their eyes touch the appearance of lamps, such as lampshades, exposed light sources or reflecting surfaces. At this time, if the brightness of entering the human eye is too high, it may cause uncomfortable glare. Therefore, lamps and lanterns should be shaded to avoid glare.


The standard stipulates that the reading and writing desk lamp should have light shielding. When a person is sitting, the surface brightness of all luminous components observed by the human eye should not be higher than 2000 cd/m2. Zhang Zhiping, Vice Minister of Lighting Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Department of Weikai Detection Technology Co., Ltd., explained that under sitting position, the lower the brightness of the external surface of lamps observed by human eyes, the better the comfort of eyes when used.


The test results showed that all the products met the standard except for the two products which did not meet the requirements of shading. Among them, "one person e-lamp" is a protective eye lamp, the surface brightness entering the human eye is 8498.4 cd/m2, more than three times exceeding the standard; and "Ai-mu" is a protective eye lamp, the brightness detection value entering the human eye is 52727.13 cd/m2, more than 25 times exceeding the standard.

Blue light (HEV) is everywhere. The sun, fluorescent lamps, mobile phones, computers, television and so on all contain blue light.


Blue light has been proved to be the most harmful visible light. At the 2010 annual meeting of the International Association of Light, the world's leading optical experts pointed out that excessive blue light (especially short-wave blue light) can destroy photoreceptor cells in the retina and cause macular degeneration, leading to visual distortion, vision loss, and even blindness in serious cases.

The international standard IEC/TR 62778-2014 classifies retinal blue-light hazards into four categories: non-hazardous (RG0), low-risk (RG1), medium-risk (RG2) and high-risk (RG3). RG0 is the highest level of safety, using extreme environmental detection, eyes at 20 cm away from the light source, insisting on direct-looking light source (beads) for 2.8 hours will not cause retinal damage. According to the Standard of Performance Requirements for Reading and Writing Desk Lamps, the category of blue light hazards should not exceed RG0. The test results show that, except for "Ai Mu" eye protection lamp, blue light hazard belongs to the low-risk category (RG1), which can not meet the performance requirements of eye protection lamp, and there is a lower risk. All other samples meet the requirements.

The comparative test results of 10 eye protection lamps show that, on the whole, four products, such as Netease Intelligent Manufacturing, Rex Lighting, Millet Eco-chain Yeelight, Panasonic and so on, have reached the AA level of illumination and performed well. Among them, NetEasy Zhijian ranks first in all tests and first in comprehensive ranking. In addition, Guanya, Midea, good eyesight, Philips, one person E-lamp and other five products have reached A-level illumination level, which meets the standard requirements. This time only "Ai Mu" illumination level can not reach A level, and does not meet the requirements of eye lamp standards for the most items, ranking bottom.


This test project mainly includes seven aspects: illumination and illumination uniformity, light source comfort (shading), retinal blue light hazard, color rendering index, stroboscopic, light source angle adjustability and dimming type.


In terms of test items, only one eyeguard lamp of Aimu is not qualified in illumination and illumination uniformity. Its illumination value is low and illumination uniformity is poor. It is easy to cause visual fatigue in use.


In terms of shading, the surface brightness of two products such as "one person e lamp" and "Ai Mu" is too high, exceeding the standard more than three times and 25 times respectively. Experts say that the high brightness of the lamp surface observed by the human eye and excessive glare will make the visual sense of the human eye worse.

How to select eye protection lamp scientifically?

For example, attention should be paid to the level of retinal blue-light hazards on desk lamps, and the choice of desk lamps with RG0 as blue-light hazards.


In addition, the color temperature of reading and writing desk lamp should not exceed 4000K. It is suggested that the color temperature should be below 4000K at night. Excessive color temperature will affect comfort, interfere with human biological clock, and long-term use will affect sleep.


Priority should be given to the lamp whose light surface is parallel to the lamp surface or concave into the lamp surface, so as to avoid too much light coming directly into the eyes and affecting the eye comfort.
