1000Bulbs, A Well-known U.S. Online Retailer Has Filed A Lawsuit Alleging That It Was Targeting A Shell Company.

- Apr 03, 2019-

One of the largest online retailers of LED bulbs, lamps and lighting products in the United States, 1000 Bill. com (hereinafter referred to as "1000 Bill") recently announced that the company has filed a lawsuit against 1000 LED Inc. in the Federal District Court (Texas) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The complaint alleges that 1000 LED is a shell company trying to trade under the name and brand of 1000 Bulbs.

On March 28, 2019, 1000Bulbs filed a lawsuit against 1000LED for trademark infringement and unfair competition, allegedly running 1000LED.com. According to the indictment, 1000LED has no employees and other entities controlled by Changyong (Leo) Zhu (including WSD LED Inc., Wisdom Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Alush LLC.) have operated improperly as shells. In its complaint, 1000 Bulbs claimed that the defendant had violated the trademark rights of 1000 Bulbs by selling products under the name of 1000 LEDs and that there was unfair competition in the market.

In addition to compensation and prohibition, the complaint also calls for the formal cancellation of the registration of the "1000LED" trademark obtained through fraud. In addition to federal complaints, 1000 Bulbs lodged a complaint with the US Patent and Trademark Office against the illegal use of the names www.1000LED.com and 1000 LED, or demanded the cancellation of the two names, both of which unduly hampered the success of 1000 Bulbs in the market.

Radulescu LLP, an intellectual property litigation company, participated in the lawsuit on behalf of 1000 Bulbs. The company's lawyers filed more patent infringement lawsuits against LED than any other company in the United States.

"As a leading online retail website for LED lighting and other lighting products, 1000 Bill. com has a history of more than 20 years, and we are proud of it." Kim Pedersen, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of 1000 Corner.com, said. "Over the years, we have invested a lot of money in developing our company and 1000 Bulbs brand, and we take seriously any attempt to trade with our name and brand. We won't stand idly by when someone else opens and runs a company without employees in the name of 1000LED.com in order to make a profit in the market.
