The LED application

6.1 proper lighting application

We perceive the environment we live in primarily through our vision.

The eye, as a sensory organ, provides up to 80% of all information.

Therefore, good lighting is essential.

Today, we have a lot of knowledge on hand about how lighting should be related to space, our needs, and how an internal biological process is triggered and controlled by its intensity subconsciously.

Such knowledge can be properly converted into a number of target parameters and can easily be represented by the following values and requirements:

Illumination level and uniformity

Harmonious light distribution and balanced brightness ratio

The color of the light is mild and the quality of the light source is related to the color rendering

The direction of light

With the fundamental changes in human social life and the geometric growth of our information sharing with the world around us, lighting is constantly evolving.

The development of new light sources and lamps utilizes modern technology, new optical systems and materials with an eye to optimizing efficiency and taking into account environmental impacts.

Taken together, we define 10 basic application areas with specific lighting requirements to ensure "correct lighting" for a given space:

Display and retail stores, shopping malls

Indoor and outdoor industrial Spaces

Office and public Spaces

Hotel and catering space

Architectural lighting and urban landscape

Roads, roads and squares

Household space

Education and the research space

Health and care space

Sports and leisure space

6.2 display and retail stores, shopping malls

Retail stores usually use traditional track lighting for continuous installation.

Their LED replacements would save a huge amount of electricity.

The precise lighting of LED lamps allows people to see every single detail of the product.

The game of light and shadow will reveal the secret of the product to the customers -- the light from multiple angles can avoid the shadow caused by the product itself.

It is very important to lighting the building elements of large areas of the store space.

We use LED billboards and video playback to attract attention, and then focus customer interest on the product by precisely targeting the projected lights.

High color performance can better show the essence of goods.

LED light sources can already provide products with a color index higher than 90.

Using RGB LED based lamps, we can adjust the color inside the LED light source according to the scene, so that we do not have to use the color filter like the traditional light source.

6.3 indoor and outdoor industrial space

The technical operation/operation area has a completely different lighting operation environment.

Lighting fixtures are often installed in complex environments with high ceilings.

Replacing parts such as light sources or other maintenance work may be problematic.

Accordingly, illume lamps and lanterns must satisfy strict technical requirement to provide long service life.

In addition, lighting control systems equipped with solar and human sensing can significantly reduce energy consumption in daily use.

6.4 office and public Spaces

Office lighting should meet all office area requirements in the en 12464-1 standard.

We spend most of our time in the office, so the lighting should be appropriate and pleasant.

Glare is minimized to avoid visual interference.


We can provide a variety of LED lamps that can at least be compared with and even exceed their parameters.

Besides saving energy, the user's comfort level is the most important in office applications (dimmer, daylight sensor and motion sensor).

We are using LED lighting systems to provide solutions for various levels of requirements.

Figure 6.4.1 can replace the LED lamps with the traditional lamp panel, and limit the glare to the required value in the standard specification through the micro prism.


5 lamps and lanterns

Figure 6.4.2 shows how the lamp can create a satisfying atmosphere by installing a new LED lighting system.

The initial impression that lamps and lanterns gives a person is unremarkable, it is simple a group "the aperture on smallpox", but lamps and lanterns is concealed the optical lens with elaborate design inside.

Using RGB light source in general lighting can achieve emotional lighting.

Additional lighting controls may also be used and integrated into other systems.

The emergency module embedded in the luminaire ensures safety.

6.6 building lighting and urban landscape


Due to advantages such as durability, easy control, low power consumption and long life, buildings are the first application area to use LED.

Today, leds are used almost everywhere.

Leds have so many possibilities, and their implementation depends on investors' willingness to invest in such applications.

LED creates a new look on the bridge, facade and other building areas.

Their huge advantage in such applications is their size.

LED lights can be made very small, and the result is that people can hide them in the building facade.

In this case, they're actually invisible, and that's an advantage when the light is off.

In the past, the use of conventional gas discharge lamps led to the limitations of available colour temperature (CCT) - sodium lamp 2000K, metal halide lamp 3000 or 4000K.

In order to create color light, we have to use filters, which can reduce the light output ratio and the luminous flux, resulting in more lamps to be installed, higher energy consumption, and higher installation and operation costs.

Using LED lamps, it is easy to set the desired output color, and the result is creative freedom for designers.

Instantaneous flash points, continuous control of luminous flux, addressable possibilities, and simple editing of lighting scenes allow people to vary light intensity, relative color temperature (CCT) and RGB colors according to time, creating dynamic lighting systems.

6.7 highways, roads and squares

LED lighting provides better illumination evenness and higher colour index (CRI) for streets, which increases visibility at night.

Compared with traditional road lighting, LED lamps produce high quality light (their color index is similar to that of sunlight).

It provides better light perception, allowing surveillance cameras in urban areas to better identify.

Daylight has a color index of 100, whereas our sodium lamp has only 20.

The output color index of LED road lighting is 70-80.

Road lighting LED lighting ensures a 50% reduction in maintenance costs compared to gas discharge light sources.

In addition, installing LED lighting will reduce power consumption by 35-45%.

We can also achieve further energy savings through intelligent dimming using LED technology.

Other benefits of installing LED lights are reducing light pollution, optimizing the spectrum and improving the lighting design.

LED lighting selectively highlights places of interest in the city, resulting in increased attraction to the city.

Using LED technology in road lighting helps improve energy efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions and minimize light pollution that has a negative impact on plants and animals.

Improved visibility at night was also achieved due to the higher LED color index, higher color temperature and higher brightness uniformity.

Parking lot lighting should be white, clean and very visible, while keeping power consumption as low as possible.

These are the reasons why people prefer LED lighting in parking lots.

Compared with other light sources, such as incandescent or fluorescent lamps, LED lamps provide clear, clean and brighter light.

Key features of parking lot lighting include:

24-hour operation

The possibility of dimming

Low temperature operation (no reduction in luminous flux)

6.8 home space

Design is a very important feature for residential lighting because it is usually the center of the illuminated space.

So it affects how we feel.

In the home, we need to feel comfortable, so it's important to be able to grab attention and create a satisfying environment without losing any functionality.

To create such lighting fixtures, we used all possible features: from RGB features, through light direction, programmed lighting scenarios, timing Settings, to simple controls.

All of these features together improve the user's comfort level;

The use of motion sensors, illumination sensors and dimming also saves energy.

It is also important to mention the security of common areas.

In case of power failure, it will take some time for the traditional light source to light up again (restart delay), while the LED light source will light up immediately.

Because of the size of leds, we can easily use them in places we could not in the past.

Sidewalk edges are often dangerous to people, and it's time for a change.

Simple LED lighting for sidewalk edges is a simple task.

The luminaire color index c is greater than 85.

For homes, the combination of warm colors and light is typical, creating an attractive lighting system.

The system is no different from the fluorescent lighting system.

The LED decoration circle surrounds the outer edge of the lamp reflector, enhancing its design sense.

If the area is empty, light the ring.

Its advantage lies in lower power consumption and 50 times longer than the life of the light source.


6.9 emergency lighting


Emergency lighting is very important and required by relevant regulations.

Therefore, it belongs to all the application areas of "correct lighting".

Normal and smooth operation of emergency lighting is necessary for personal safety, so that people can safely evacuate from the building in case of danger.

Many of the emergency lamps that have been installed use incandescent or fluorescent light sources.

Depending on its location, emergency lighting can be turned on for up to 24 hours a day, but that can lead to significant energy consumption.

LED - based emergency lighting significantly reduces power consumption.

The emergency lighting standard defines two types of emergency lighting -- escape route lighting and open area lighting.

LED emergency lamps can be easily treated.

In addition, the lamps can be tested and controlled through the monitoring system according to the emergency standard.

The LED emergency light can be powered by a battery pack placed inside the light or powered from a central battery system (CBS).

The advantage is that lower power consumption allows us to use low-capacity batteries, which means cheaper batteries to use.

When powered from a central battery system (CBS), there is no need to maintain the emergency light due to its long life.
