New Standard: GB/T 36979-2018 Measuring Method Of Spatial Color Distribution Of LED Products

According to the announcement No. 17 of 2018 issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and the National Standardization Technical Committee, the standard GB/T 36979-2018 "Measuring Method of Spatial Color Distribution of LED Products", which is implemented by the Light Radiation Measurement Branch of the National Lighting Electrical Standardization Technical Committee and returned to the National Lighting Electrical Standardization Technical Committee, will be issued on December 28, 2019. Implementation began on July 1, 2001.


In recent years, with the application of LED lighting products in various places of people's life and production, people have put forward higher and higher requirements for the light quality of LED products. As an important factor affecting the light quality of LED products, the spatial light and color consistency of LED products has been widely concerned in the industry. Many international and domestic standards or technical specifications have put forward requirements for the spatial color consistency of LED products, but the corresponding measurement methods are very simple, which can not meet the goal of reproducible and comparable laboratory measurements.


In view of the above situation, the national standard "Measuring Method of Spatial Color Distribution of LED Products" formulated by Shanghai Times Lighting Electrical Inspection Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Yuanfang Photoelectric Information Co., Ltd., and Dongguan Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Guangdong Province stipulates the expression parameters and measurement methods of the spatial color of white LED products for lighting, in order to ensure the consistency of the test. The standard provides uniform specifications for testing environment conditions, measuring equipment, measuring steps and data processing.


It is worth mentioning that most of the contents of this standard project are the research results of TC2-74, Technical Committee of CIE, on "Goniospectroradiometry of optical radiation sources". At present, the international standard drafted by this TC has entered the final stage, while China is the first country to formulate and publish the international standard on L-radiation sources. To some extent, the standard of color distribution in ED space has also won the first chance for our products in the international competition.
